FAQ - International flights
1.   Can I get breakfast when I check in for an early flight?

Yes, breakfast is available even for the early 4:30am check-in for international flights. The Skywards Cafe on the mezannine floor has tea and toast - or there's a selection of cereals as well.

A cooked breakfast menu such as baked beans on toast through to a full 'kiwi breakfast' of sausages, tomatoes, bacon and eggs is available from 6am until 2pm daily with costs between $6.50 and $14.00

2.   I've paid taxes in my international air ticket, does that cover New Zealand Departure charges?

Only Australian departure charges and taxes are paid with most air ticket purchases. The New Zealand airport departure charges are payable at the New Zealand airport.

3.   Can I buy duty free at the airport?

Yes, duty free shopping is open for all international departures and arrivals. There is a shop in the Departure Lounge (after immigration processing); and another in the Arrivals Hall. All items are available for pricing on the internet before you travel.

4.   What is the duty free alcohol limit?

From 1 September 2007 the concession for alcohol to be brought into New Zealand is three bottles (or other containers) of spirits (up to 3,375ml in total, with a maximum of 1,125ml per bottle) and 4.5 litres of wine or 4.5 litres of beer.

Note that all alcohol is now excluded from the scope of the 'de minimis' (which exempted payment of duty less than $50) - so duty will be payable for any amount over the concession limits.

5.   Is there a shuttle to the Airport?

SuperShuttle operates from the main taxi rank in front of the terminal building.
New Zealand freephone 0800 748 885 (0800 SHUTTLE)    or
Phone +64 9 522 5100
No airport surcharge is applied to the published shuttle fares

6.   Can I take my pet on the international flights?

Check with your airline. The policy in most cases is to only carry animals in exceptional cases (such as guide-dogs for the blind).
