World Record "Towing a Boeing"

On 17 May 1998 a World Record was established at Palmerston North International Airport

The Guinness Book of Records has recognised the record for ten persons towing a fully fuelled up Boeing 737-300 over 100 metres in 47 seconds.

The record was established by Freedom Air International at the airport's Open Day held on 17 May 1998 to celebrate the opening of the new runway extensions. In addition to the ten people pulling the Freedom Air aircraft, two coordinated and encouraged in front of the large crowd.
