International departures

All boarding calls are announced over the speaker system.
You will need the following to proceed to the Departure Lounge located on the Mezzanine Floor near the cafeteria:

    Skyward Duty Free Shopping
  • Passport
  • Departure Card (completed)
  • Boarding Pass
  • Departure Receipt (until 30 March 2008)

The International Departure Receipt is NZ$25.00 including GST and can be purchased at the Service Desk at the flight Check-in counters. A Departure Receipt is required for each passenger aged 12 years and over.

Pack all sharp items and other articles prohibited in the cabin into the bags that you check-in. New rules for liquids and gels apply from 31 March 2007.

In summary, the new measures are:

  • Any liquids, aerosols and gels that passengers want to take in an aircraft cabin in their carry-on baggage must be in containers of 100ml volume or less
  • Containers larger than 100ml will not be permitted in carry-on baggage, even if there is only 100ml of liquid/gel in the larger container
  • Passengers may carry as many 100ml containers as will fit comfortably in a single re-sealable transparent plastic bag of 1 litre volume (approximately 20cm by 20cm, or 8 inches by 8 inches)
  • Each passenger, including children, will be allowed one transparent re-sealable plastic bag;
  • The plastic bag will need to be presented separately from all other carry-on luggage at the screening points at airports;.

International Arrivals

You will need your Passport and a completed "New Zealand Passenger Arrival Card" which you will have received on the flight.

  • Duty Free shopping is available both on departure and arrival.
  • Toilets are available in both the Departure Lounge and the Arrivals Hall during flight processing.
  • A self-service drinks machine is available in the Departure Lounge
  • A lift is available from the Departure Lounge to the ground floor for aircraft boarding

Domestic flights

All boarding calls are announced over the speaker system.
To depart, you will need the following to depart to a Boarding Gate:

  • Boarding Pass (or E-ticket, epass or mpass)
  • Departure Receipt (Over 4 years of age)

The Domestic Departure Development Levy is NZ$5.00 (including GST) and can be purchased at either the Service Desk by the check-in counters or Skywards Cafe on the first floor. (During office hours 8am-5pm Mon-Fri, Receipts can also be purchased individually or in quantities from Palmerston North Airport's office on the first floor.)

A Departure Development Levy Receipt is required for each passenger aged 5 years and over.

No bags to check in?? - Simply be at the boarding gate 20 minutes before your flight and have your Departure Levy Receipt, and your E-ticket, epass or mpass ready to scan.

On arrival into Palmerston North, checked in baggage can be collected from the self-claim area at the eastern end of the Terminal.
